Book's name- Ender's Game

Author- Orson Scott Card

I had heard about the novel years ago from my friends who read it. So I had been expecting much from the novel by Orson Scott Card. Ender's Game is the story of a young genius, Ender Wiggin, who is admitted into the military. This a story which describes future where the Earth is attacked by the outside insectoid Aliens, had it not been for the brilliant military leader, Mazer Rackham, who led the humans to victory. But now Mazer is gone and the world government has resorted to breeding and training children into military geniuses. The book's Protagonist is Ender.

It puts forward what sort of experiences are observed by Ender, and how he sticks to his instincts The young Ender prevails against all his opponents in battle, but is he skilled enough to save humanity?

The Author has very wisely and very meticulously characterized some characters in a humane manner . All the major people in Ender's life, and Ender himself, have very distinct personalities and values. In particular, The plot was a bit predictable, but overall very interesting and entertaining, mainly the Zero gravity fights that the Cadets ruled.

Ender was a Child Prodigy, he had a very sharp and rapid observation plus his knowledge was very actively viewed in the book. This actually makes the book more interesting. Ender's Tactics are very widely displayed which takes your view of interest in a totally different direction.

It also reflects various relations Ender had with his family especially his sister, Valentine. He is always very keen to talk to his sister, and in the last it is his sister that persuades him to join the Defense, when he himself is not convinced with the job.

The novel won the Nebula Award for best novel in 1985, and the Hugo Award for best novel in 1986, considered the two most prestigious awards in Science fiction.

A movie also was made in the same name of'Ender's Game', I also watched the movie. Yes the movie is totally very interesting, though I am not supposed to describe the movie in this book review.

Various Postives:-

The zero gravity games that the cadets played, rules the book.

The relation between Ender and Valentine, brings out the sentiment in the book.

Mazer Reckham's, tutelage towards Ender.

The last game, the so called practice, when the whole Insectoid Alien Planet gets destroyed.

The Vibe that Ender had while in sleep.

Lesser negatives

The story gets very predictive, right from the beginning

The other characters are unexpectedly less described.

Very less technological gadgets described, as compared to the latest ones.

Overall, I think Ender's Game is a great book and I recommend it highly to everyone.
