Emirates Airline is an airline based in Dubai, UAE owned by The Emirates Group. It operates services to the Middle East, Far East, Europe, Africa, Indian subcontinent, Asia-Pacific and North America.

Dubai International Airport is its hub. Emirates is one among the airlines that operate many Boeing flights. I happened to travel by Emirates couple of months back from JFK to Trivandrum. It was indeed a nice experience. The fights had a very comfortable seating and was very convenient. The in-flight services were good and the crew was helpful and friendly. The aircraft is well maintained and the ambiance was pleasant. The fight had a very good entertainment system with personal TV screens and remote control for every passenger. The entertainment package had a good and latest collection of movies, songs, information, games and much more. The travel time was around 12:30 hours and you would find the real use of the entertainment package. The aircraft had a good communication system that enables each passenger to call any part of the globe while on-board. This service is not free and could be charged using a credit card. I believe, emirates is the first airline to provide this facility.

The food and beverages served were good and they had special packages for children. You may not enjoy the food, if you are an admirer of spicy south Indian food. But on continental terms, the food was decent and well above the standards.  Another interesting fact is that emirates still maintains the 32kg (per baggage * 2) of check-in luggage which all the Indians would welcome. But this depends on the connection flight too. Say for example, you take a connection flight (say Delta connection) to JFK; you have to pay the extra baggage amount of $25 since Delta allows only 23kg. So, it is advisable to board your flight directly from JFK, in case if you need to take 32kg with you. Air India also offers this service. Be prepared to travel around 12:30 hours continuously if you are flying from JFK to Dubai. If you are not a travel loving person, emirates may not be a good option. Compared to the price, emirates is a bit more costly compared to the other airlines. While the other airlines take you to India from $950 - $1200, emirates take a few more from $1300-$1400 on normal conditions. On an average it is around 100 bucks more than its counterparts. But when compared with the comfort and amenities, emirates rules the place.
