Pros:
excellent service
Cons:
limited routes

I used to be a die hard SIA fan until that first time I flew Emirates to London. I am now as much an Emirates supporter as I am SIA and gosh I’m Malaysian ....

You see I’m not one of
those Business or 1st class passengers so my views are based on the kind of service you get in the economy section.

When I travel I’m a comfort dresser i.e. very laidback and no pretences .. so it really gives you an idea how the airline staff treat passengers .. and I must say despite looking like something the cat dragged in, I had the most exquisite service on flight.

The airline prides itself with its extensive menu, excellent selection of entertainment channels and the crew I had to from London to DXB was the ’bestest’ ever. I was travelling on work despite being sick as a dog ... the stewardess who was in charge of my section made it possible for me to get my seat moved to a more comfortable one - was sitting in between some really rowdy pakistani guys ... and cursing my luck ...

She made her concern to ensure that I had my meal on time, was kept hydrated throughout the flight and comfortably allowed to sleep throughout the journey - now thats a case of personal touch ... of course in my medication imbibed mind I never really got her name to send a compliment to her management..

I have travelled on another carrier ina similar under the weather condition only to be ignored throughtout the 13 hours of flying on any request for water ... in the end I had to drag myself to the back and get it myself! I’m wondering how they ever win best cabin crew!

My return flight was a bit more interactive as my seat mate was a lovely lady from Lahore who’d gone to UK to settle her daughters into boarding school and we chatted throughout the journey about kids and day to day ...

Again the crew on this flight we excellent, I noticed that they took the do not disturb me sign of seat belt over the blanket very seriously ... even SIA sometimes the over zealous crew tend to wake up sleeping dragons and get a earful of colourful curses ...

I can’t say really which is better but I do know now when I’m looking at flights, I do have Emirates a little higher on my list for comfort and good service even in the budgeted travellers section i.e us economy class intrepid travellers ...

Give Emirates a try ... I don’t think you’d be disappointed ...

No. of times flown on this Airlines: Between 7 - 10
Class flown most frequently: Economy Class
