I had an first thought before reading this book "story is about a prosti*ute;how could someone frame a story with this theme, would not be worth to buy".But it after reading it I was thinking "why the heck I didn't read before!" its writer "Paulo Coelho" again didnt broke the trust I have in him and no words to say just an awesome book and its favorite book now and I think it is one of the best books when compared to rest of his books and I would highly recommend all to just give a try one time .
It is not just a book or a just story;this is a true incident happened to a girl named "Sonia" as in the story her name is given as "Maria" .he writes his work in a simple grammar and meanings and his writings take us to another world and make us feel as we are protagonist of the story.It helps us to understand more about life and girls:-p
No girl would like to become a prostiute in real life;it is her environment or her burdened lyf which made her to do for a living.It is a heart touching story of a young girl named Maria who tries to find out her treasure -her true love and to be frank as writer is she says where she founded true love there was no sex and where any physical contact happened there was no true love.Paulo coelho was in a question of "was sex sacred?" and collected more info regarding his question and has included in this book as he included a character of librarian who gives her knowledge about clitors and g spot when maria asked for books related to this topic.And Rolf as a hero of this book marked a positive remark and my favorite character in this book also gives her knowledge about history of prostitutes and was sex sacred related answers.
My favorite character in this novel was Rolf, he was a 30 year old rich, handsome painter who had understood life as nobody can.
Maria writes day to day happenings in her diary and gives it a name "eleven minutes".She worked in a dance bar and she would take a man to hotel room and her allotted time with man she wished was only 45 min.Then after talking, changing dress, reaching there the left overtime was only eleven minutes in which the man entered into her body and moved in and out".Everyday she encountered with different man each day who were mostly lonely in this world and there were some things that could not be shared to his wife and he may be much tired by his work.As some of the men came here for just relieving their minds ie. only they want to talk.
I would highly recommend this novel to everybody and must read novel in a lifetime!
