The word ’’effective management’’ it self tells you that time needs effective management which means the things you do must be organized.
But the subject is unlimited.
Human beings are not the only creature on the earth who organizes the time. Time management is inherent in the nature itself, but I do not write on that. Time management is observed even among animals. Have you ever observed a cat? It came through the window at 12:45 in the night to drink that glass of milk you kept on the table; it comes exactly 12:45 night next day again. Make no mistake about that. It will not come at 12:40 or even at 12:44; it will come only at 12:45.
Time management is an essential skill we should learn, practice and develop.
If you manage your time very well, the time will be left out at the end of the day. Otherwise you will be left out and time will run out.
You might probably observed this on Sundays. Many persons feel the whole day is there and there is no need to get up at usual time. And when the day ends we will all be surprised. How the holyday just gone away up like a smoke? What happened? The only thing is we did not manage the time that day.
You might read that ’’early bird catches the worm”. This is about losing the opportunities or gaining of them. But there is some mystery about it.
All those who rise early feel that much time is left out after they have completed all their tasks for the day. Why? I personally feel that when you get up early you have ’’speed’’ in your work. Honestly speaking a tailor (ready made dress maker) told me this. I liked it so much that I implemented it and found to be true. We have a certain speed with which we do things when we get up early. And a lot time will be left out even by noon on Sundays!!
If you have observed or read the autobiographies of great people you would sure observe their time management. For example Jawarlal Nehru did not waste his time in prison counting his mistakes or day dreaming about the freedom for the country. He did not seem to be too much worried about his lovely daughter Indira or his beautiful wife Kamala. He effectively managed his time and completed writing two books. Later with royalty he got on these books he used to pay the debt incurred in the pan shop where he used to buy his favourite chesterfield cigarettes. An honest man lives by the sweat of his brow.
Time management has mystery attached to it. When you do even insignificant things at right time the result you would see long after and they are sure to surprise you.

Everybody has his time in this world and after that we cease to exist even for the millionth of a second.
So it means if we waste one hour , that one hour will never come back.
That is why time management is essential.
As database administrator I see more than others in a certain way.
I found once that a programme in Wataniya mobile company in Kuwait was taking more than 12 hours to post into general ledger. I could reduce it 15 minutes flat !!
At another time a company which specializes in SMS services was on the verge of collapse even before it was born. They were in the danger of aborting the entire project. The problem was that the consumers should get the answer on the mobile by SMS within a few seconds. But it was taking as much as quarter of an hour !!. Many tried and failed. I could reduce the time to less than one second !! .

He invested millions of rupees in to the project where a search engine on the computer would find out the best alternative for a consumer’s query for example a best restaurant in the city which serves kababs !!. This is only an example.
The point is effective time management means
engaging the the right person for the right job.
Sometimes time management involves only technical people and a
manager may not know the possibilities.
some time management saves or earns hundreds of millions of rupees.
I was watching a programme on BBC and this was about Reliance petrochemicals complex. It was Anil Ambani or Mukesh Ambani , don’t ask me but one of them was going around the complex and calculating time taken for certain tasks there right on the field. In the end he stopped at a computer where invoices were being printed. There was a very long, long queue of Lorries or tankers. He asked the question ’’Why?’’ . They were answering that computer is slow to analyze the history of the buyer and come out with an invoice. Unless there is an invoice the truck can not move. It all looked funny to me as I watch on the TV. It was because being DBA myself , I would say that Reliance should pay five figure salaries generally earned by DBA’s in foreign countries and hire the best brains available. It is such a crucial one it can save crores to the company.
I saw exactly the same situation in regard to ’’Asian Paints’’ again on the BBC programme yet another day !!!
Time is extremely valuable in corporate sector.
As we understand from the above examples,
     1) the time management is all about employing the right person for the right job for administrators.
     2) Delegating the powers to the subordinates for the high authorities
( Prime ministers to company presidents) .
That was how Hanuman was employed to bring sanjivini in Ramayan. And Hanuman bringing the entire hill ,instead of searching for the herb himself which he does not know.
That is the mistake exactly we all of us do . we search for solution when we do not know and waste time.
    3) For students it is organizing the studies and sleeping hours .
    4)   for Housewives it is organizing the kitchen .

     5) Some times it is all about employing the experts to know and just to know “who should be employed” to reduce the all important time in certain technical areas in a factory .
