We lack in this aspect to a great extent in India though we seem to be catching up.Lets see this illustration.
Lets take an empty glass jar.Fill it up with big rocks to the brim.I ask the audience
whether the jar is full and all of them say ’’YES’’.Then I put some coarse soil in the jar.It settles down in the crevices between the rocks. Now I ask the same question and people say ’’YES’’.Then I pour sand into the jar.The sand goes into the apertures between the rocks and the soil.I then ask the audience the same question and the same answer echoes. Then I put water in the jar.It fills up to the brim.Again the people answer YES.
WE can take the cue from the illustration and our answers. We take a day by the day and fill it with the major things that we would do and say that we are very busy the whole day, like the rocks in the jar. What we will need to do to do better is to plan the smaller activities and fill up the day with the soil, sand and water. That is effective time management.
