Effective Time Management , whether at work or at home, or for that matter anywhere, is essential in today’s world, where everyone rushes against time. Mathematically speaking, Time
is a function of any equation involving movement. Whether it is the movement of a train or a plane, or a slow moving canoe, its speed is measured against time. All great scientists have made their scientific analyses involving Time as an essential parameter. It is also an unavoidable parameter in all branches of Science. All auspicious events begin at an auspicious moment. Birth time and death time are recorded with care. Sunrise and Sunset indicate their respective times. Tides come and go at particular times. Eclipses occur and continue according to the celestial laws. Satellites are launched into their orbits strictly at the designated hour, and their countdowns are measured very accurately. All scientific and natural phenomena are analysed according to time. Stenography is based on time. And so on.

Such an important and essential parameter like Time has to be managed well. To effectivetively manage it, one must have certain tools: A Watch, a Stopwatch, a Recorder, a Note Book, a Pen or Pencil, and an alert mind.

Time Management is a component of Organisation and Method ( O&M ) Studies. Every modern organisation conducts O&M Studies regularly. An Organisation is managed well when the methods operate well, and on the other hand, a Method can not be operated successfully, if the organisation does not function well. In other words, each is complementary to the other, and is also synergically linked with the other. And in each case Time is the latent enabling force.

In your own work, make a list of things to be done, according to priority. Allot time to each item of work. Classify them according to the time and energy each item would need. Perform each item efficiently and evaluate your performance. Actually this should be a simultaneous job.

Please remember that Time once gone never comes back. So it is better to work effectively now than to repent later. The old adage still holds - Time and Tide wait for None !
