I used to baazee and now am an ardent eBayer!  I can term it as a religion in itself - eBaying.

I would rate the site as a Virtual window shopping experience for anyone.  A well researched buy for a serious shopper can only be value for money.  There are certain fundamentals one should keep in minda while ebaying.

1. Read in details al the terms of the seller - regarding product, shipping, payment and refund.
2. Know well what eBay has in place in terms of process of buying, process of selling, payment process and dispute resolution mechanism.
3. Confidently buy as per Seller Ratings and Sell as per Buyer Ratings.

Knowledge is indeed wealth.  Know the above when buying or selling and you can be confident transacting on eBay.  I have had a bad experience neverthless- like no product received - but only when I went out of the way to buy something from a first time seller withy almost zero or negative rating.  But otherwise I have been refundede in full. But on the whole - I have had 98 % of safe transactions.  The payment mechanism of PaisaPay in place assures buyer protection and you loose only shipping costs when disputing and claiming refund. But since these are already mentioned, you know what you are commiting to.

The rating mechanism in place keeps both buyer and seller from commiting any frauds.  Still I see find friends complaining of not receiving something they puchased on eBay or having lost money in the process.  The fact is that they would not have resaerched seller, product or payment terms properly. Even if money is lost, if bought with buyer protection can be disputed through the available mechanism on eBay.

Now not a month goes by without me making a purchase on a eBay.  Some bought 6 months back - can be found cheaper even now.  Now! thats value for me.  Want guidance to buy or sell - just dial eBay or write to them - they will call you or chat you and take you through it.  I was just playing aroud with selling section. next day I get a call and a lady takes me through the intricacies of selling on eBay.
