I think a lot of people will disagree with me on this comment, but I think Cricket 05 is a better game than Cricket 04. Personally I would rather have a challenging game than an easy game. On 2004 I could
hit Shoaib Akhtar for six sixes as Glenn McGrath which is completely unrealistic. Its good to see that the batting is a lot harder. The best tip I have is to build up your confidence before you try to play big shots otherwise almost every time you will hit it straight to the fielders. The worst thing about the batting is that you can only move your batsman when the bowling marker cant be seen. But when the bowling marker appears you cant move your batsman. I give bowling in this game a big thumbs up and is a lot more fun than any other previous version. The fielding is average in this game, while your fielders can take blinding catches they also do some ridiculous things. Sometimes the fielder will run in from the boundary to take a catch get nowhere near it and the ball will run away for 4. The commentary in this game is CRAP!!! They sound like they are watching paint dry and have no enthusiasm in their voices and some of the things they say are so dumb and they never actually comment on how good or bad your team is doing. Cricket 2006 needs to be a better game and would be improved by; adding to the fielding with sliding stops etc. and making the fielders look less robotic. The batting needs to made slightly easier as getting 70 runs in 10 overs become very hard even on easy. The AI for batting is one of my biggest concerns as it is to easy to tie down the batsman and stop him from scoring runs. In one game I played this team was 8 for 4 after 22 overs!!! Hope this review is hopeful to you. P.S. Dont bother using practice mode because the timing is nothing like what it is when you play a match.
