As most of you know I love to shop online and recently I was on a mission to purchase my oldest a digital thermometer for Christmas. With two small children she needs one! So I first went to all the usual online stores that I shop with and didn’t find what I was looking for or the price I was looking for. They were either to high with high shipping and handling cost or not a very good brand.

So, while I was at my account with www.mypoints.com, they were having their annual 4 points per dollar spent going on for the holidays and they also had an 600 points for first time customers for shopping with www.drugstore.com. So off I went and I am glad I did. I found the thermometer I was looking for and for the right price and I got free shipping and handling for spending 49.00 dollars. The other online stores I went to wanted to charge me up to 10.00 dollars to ship the same thermometer. I don’t think so!

The Online Store

First I must say that I have often looked at www.drugstore.com but never bought from them until recently.

When you get to the homepage of www.drugstore.com you will find a busy, but informative page. You can always find across the top on any page links that will take you to the following places on the site. At these places you will have a page open up with a lot of stuff to look at. You will also find the current days sale items.

Home, Holiday Store, Pharmacy, Medicine Cabinet, Beauty and Spa, Nutrition and Wellness, Personal Care, Household, Sexual Well Being, Natural Store, and Dr. Well Recommends.

Now, I went to search engine on the site to look for digital thermometers and I was taken to a lot to choose from. Ranging in prices from 10.00 dollars and up, depending on what you wanted. Refill parts for older thermometers were also available.

I chose the one I wanted and it went to my shopping bag, which by the way I could see at anytime by clicking on the “view shopping bag” link found at the top, right hand corner of any page.

I also ordered some Dove® products for my next in line to put into her stocking for Christmas. I was able to find these items with ease as well.

I also liked being able to look at special offers by certain products/companies, which I found this link on the home page under “Great Deals”. Here you can find offers for on sale items, holiday freebies, steals and deals and more. Just click each link and you will be taken to a page full of offers. These offers change from week to week. Some daily.

You can also find links to the “Top Sellers”, “Pharmacy”, “Ways to Shop”, “Ways to Save”, “Holiday”, “Outlet”, and more. You can spend a lot of time at www.drugstore.com that’s for sure.

You can get stuff for the entire family. From baby to adult and everyone in between! You can find gifts for special occasions or find things just for yourself. They also offer prescriptions, which you can get via their site and mailed to you.

And one other great thing is that you earn money back on your purchases. You can use this money at the site to buy something later on. Now that’s a great thing!

The help sections offers a variety of solutions to any problems you may incur.

Shipping and Handling

The shipping and handling charges do vary depending on what you buy. For instance, the rate vary from standard shipping at 5.49 for a total of 7 to 9 days, 3-day shipping at 8.95, 2-day shipping at 14.95 and of course overnight at 29.95. I think that some of this a rather high but I guess if you want to spend the money then go for it.

Prices are different for prescription medications, cheaper.

And they do ship Internationally as well offering Air Shipping.

How I Feel

I had no problems finding the thermometers at all and the page loaded very quickly. I was able to shop around the entire site with no hassles at all. I had so much fun at this store and I earned 600 points with my www.mypoints.com account plus I got free shipping and handling.

I really liked the layout of this online store because everything was so easy to see and get around. One of the things I really liked about www.drugstore.com was the ability to be able to see where I had been on the site by scrolling down to the bottom of any page. There was a list of the items I had looked at, easy for me to click and go back to any given item.

I also received my order within a week! I was sent an email detailing my order and then another one when the order was on the way. UPS delivered with no problems at all.

It is great to always buy something and be happy with it. And I hope my daughter will be happy with the digital thermometer, which will make her life easier when those grandbabies are sick.
