DRAMBUIE was first made on the Island of Skye in Scotland.Today it is made in other countries as well, (i.e in France).
DRAMBUIE
This liqueur that made of a mixture of Highland
malt scotch whiskey, heather honey and herbs. When you first taste it you will have an aftertaste.
Your first sensation will be feeling of warmth going down your throat and my nose tingles.
Drambuie is very strong and one glass or a ’dram’, (a dram is the width of two man’s fingers), is enough to send you head spinning. Drambuie is very sweet and you should probably drink it on ice or neat.
EASY DRINKS
I have added Drambuie to hot coffee, (this is called Café Skye), and tea. It does ’spice’ up these hot drinks.
OTHER DRINKS
PRINCE CHARLES COFFEE
Add to a cup of coffee one dram of drambuie and one square of bittersweet chocolate.
MONKS COFFEE
Add to a cup of coffee on dram of drambuie and garnish it with a drop of whipped cream and a little nutmeg. Drambuie is best served with your dessert.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS
If you like whisky you will enjoy Drambuie. I don’t happen to like it!!!
If you have a bad cold it will help ease the symptoms! I hope that you will trust me on this one as I have used it often.
