Pros:
best with scotch
Cons:
damn sweet

After long time(a gap of a whole week), got a chance to watch a movie. This time around, didn’t want to waste the experience by drinking cheap beer (someone else’s lying in the refrigerator)
Moreover, Life is too short for a cheap beer,.... so true. So, drove up to the nearest liquer store, browsed thru to get something really hot stuff. Just then I glanced over this round shaped crocodiled layered bottle... "Drambuie!!!" Some part of my memory said.. "Yeah, that seems familiar". couldn’t recollect where and how it could be familiar? After some more browsing, remembered something and came back to the same place "Oh yeah.. Wasn’t this the drink that sometime back pri20 had written a very tantalising review on". Waise what were those days? (woh bhi kya din ththe?) when we used to read about reviews and waste a whole lot of time commenting.

Anal-ogying(superdoc has the patent for this word) mouthshut and cricket, diaries are like T20, instant craze and quickly over with no botheration of who read or how many comments posted while reviews are like ODIs where you have to milk for attaining comments.

However, went to the counter with that bottle in hand for checkout. The lady at the counter asked, "Sir, is that what you want to check out?". Sounded unusual.. "Have i picked up something that made me look silly?" thinked(?) me.

With a typical American confidence, i said "Yes Mam".

For some reason, she had to respond back with "I like that too for a dessert drink after meals."

I was lil taken aback. "Oh.. is that so? Am not sure abt it, am just trying it for the first time."

She tried to encourage me. "Oh yeah, Drambuie is a nice drink. you will enjoy it." Thats when, came to know how Drambuie is pronounced. Its pronounced like D-r-amnboo-ee (with r in a Damn).

With an expression like.. "Whatever!!", returned home, poured about 5 ice cubes in an drink glass, poured some D-r-amn boo-ee and put on the movie, ( don’t have the patience to write another revu on the movie so just the name and gist mentioned here. Japanese DVD called "UnBorn But UnForgotten". The story is about every woman who visits a website and gets killed within the next 15 days, Okish movie.)

Anyhow, just as the movie started, sipped a bit of the Drambuie and found that it indeed was a dessert drink. Except for the sweetness in the drink, everything else was perfect. Waited for a bit and then sipped again, no change and same feeling of sweetness.

Had to pause the movie. Went to the internet and found that Drambuie is best drank as Rusty Nail. Rusty Nail is a mix of Drambuie and Scotch with a twist of Lemon. Ab batao.... jahaan beer hee nahin tho scotch kaha se laaye?? :-(

Somehow drank the rest of the Drambuie, watched the movie and went to sleep that night.. lil dissapointed, nevertheless with the satisfaction of sound sleep.

The following day, on my way back from work, went to the same store again, had a lengthy chat with the attendant at the store and eventually bought a blended famous grouse scotch whiskey to prepare my Rusty Nail.

-    Take Ek Whiskey ka Gilaas... or any gilaas
-    Usmein 5-6 ice cubes yaa any other shapes per apne hisaab sey..
-    Fir ek tihaaee drambuie bhardo
-    Then pour the SAME gilaas with scotch twice as much as you poured the Drambuie..
-    Aas paas mein kahin Nimbu dikhe tho ek aadha nimbu nichod dena.. bus ek baar nichodna kaafi hain.
-    Dekho ki glass bhara ya nahin.. Agar nahin tho aur thode ice cubes daaldo..

Now the main part of the recipe.. .Take a spoon and stir the cocktail really well. Once tired, take out the ice cubes with the spoon and njoy your Rusty nail and quench your thirst.

Disclaimer: Don’t ask me why i put this under a Product review.. may be it was too much for a diary account but if you happen to fall into the trap of Pri’s Jeffery Archer style writing skills and end up buying Drambuie and have tastebuds as tasteless as mine... hey.. at least i warned you and suggested an alternate saviour:_)

BTW, Dear Lyla mentions that Drambuie is used on desserts, coffee, whipped cream and Drambuie.. Hmmm..

njoy.com your summer!!!
