Rujuta Diwekar's lose your weight do not lose your mind is indeed a path breaking book. It bursts all the established conventions regarding diet and weightloss. Most importantly it respects our traditional wisdom and highlights its scientific values as well.

So for all those who were unhappy that their doctors had advised them to keep away from pickles, papads, sugar and fried vada here is some news. Rujuta says that you can eat them. Yes but there is a word of caution as well. She says you must eat sweet only once a week that too after execise.

Exercise is another important key factor determining weightloss. Rujuta underlines the importance of physical activity. She says that even one hundred and twenty minutes of exercise per week is suffice to keep a person hale and hearty.

She also brings to the fore the truth of artificial sweetners, sugar free mithais, oil free farsans and diet colas. They are loaded with hidden calories. She says that regular mithai's and chips must be preferred over the diet stuff. Most importantly these should be home made and not purchased from the markets.

Kareena Kapoor is also a highlight of the book. Rujuta Diwekar is the architect of Kareena's zero figure. Kareena describes her meeting with Rujuta as the most wonderful incident of her life. She describes how committed Kareena is towards exercise and fitness. Also she describes Kareena's love for food.

The basic premise behing Rujuta's book is that if you want to lose weight you have to eat. Crash diets are called crash diets because they do not sustain over a period of time. She also describes the beauty secret of all the heroines – sleeping early.

The language of the book is simple and conversational. Rujuta has avoided use of jargons and sticks to simple English laced with Bambaiya Hindi words. This book is a must have in your book shelf. It will take away all the guilt which you harbour while eating the food you love.
