i think after seeing the film it is very safe to say that don to remake karna munkin nahin namukin hai.the film falls short of expectations people had.the film is let down by weak screenplay,script and half scenes by which i mean it focuses on one character then suddenly brings in another character .the film surprisingly has weak direction by farhan akhtar who has made good films like dch and lakshya and finally i think this film is no where near original don mainly because sharukh lacks the charisma of amitabh and body language required for a international crook and his act makes us wonder whether we are in his earlier romantic filmstory
story
the film story basically is about don who is a big criminal wanted in seven countries who works under malhotra who basically is in business of arms and drugs.don is shown to be a very intelligent and witty and who comes to know his  friends and traitors within a flash of a second and cold bloodedly murders people who desert him and one of them is ramesh who is romas(priyanka) brother and so to take revenge roma joins dons gang but before she can do anything don is fatally wounded by acp dsilva(boman) and who therefore to know more about malhotras network and clout places his mole vijay(srk) by promising vijay he will place deepu who vijay looks after in a good school and here another sub plot unfolds as deepu is the son of jj(arjun) who wants to kill dsilva as  he is responsible for his wife death .
the film though has few surprises in the form of twists you would not have expected like it is revealed that dsilva is in fact vardhan a foe of malhotra and the climax where it is revealed that man dsilva planted is not vijay but don.the film has been brilliantly shot with locations breathtaking but overall film is a letdown
    cast
don-srk is dissappointing as don and  repeats his act of other films here as well.he is no where as close to amitabh bachchan and i also think hritik would have been better choice
roma-priyanka chopra has a bigger and substansial role this time and she does not dissappoint
jj-arjun rampal hams as jj and is pure teakwood
dsilva-boman irani has most scope to perform and he performs brilliantly
narang-pawan malhotra does well as narang
om puri is wasted in a half baked role
isha koppikar has a 3 minute role in which she dissappoints
