ARE DIWANO AB TO PEHCHANO-Aila!!! Ye to nakli hai. This was the first impression I got when I went to see DON. The charisma of that baritone voice, that magnificent personality of Big B was in no way

matched by the doctored vernacular, that specially crafted Boli and an overdose of acting by the so called king khan SRK. Though the movie as a whole has been beautifully picturised and some action scenes are really mind-boggling, yet it failed to make much impact as far as the acting part is concerned.

The biggest disappointment has been too short roles assigned to some of the actors like Chunky Pandey. And of course, the pathetic dance by Kareena Kapoor who looked like a lump of haphazardly moving flesh trying to imitate the yesteryear’s diva, the goddess Helen who happened to have that perfect hour-glass figure and who could burn the silver screen with her OOMPH factor! I think most of the people will agree with me when I say that the only selling point of the movie was Boman Irani who did justice to his role in the real sense. His facial expressions and timing are absolutely perfect. He brings alive the screen with his presence and keeps the audience glued to the screen. All in all, he’s a visual treat to look out for.

Talking about the main female protagonist i.e. Priyanka Chopra, she seems to have taken the work seriously and done justice to the role she has been assigned. Though not as killer & sexy as Zeenat of the original Don, yet she managed to survive by enacting the role with valour and zeal. Last but not the least, Arjun Rampal has followed in the footsteps of the legendary Pran just perfectly. Oh!! And I just remembered that there was one more character-that of Isha Koppikar. Such is the shortness and un-importance of the role that people forget her very easily. Isn’t this wonderful??

But, all is not bad in this remake. Especially the looks of Shahrukh Khan!! Man, it is for the first time that SRK is looking so dashing. He has definitely taken utmost care in carving out DON. Hats off to the designer!! And also, the stunts and the beautiful locations are something to watch out for!
