Unnecessary Sequel!!

Story:

Doctor Sleep by Stephen King, This book is a sequel to The Shining. It follows the character of Dany who we met in The Shining. This book is completely different from The Shining. I personally feel like the sequel was unnecessary, I was perfectly satisfied with what I know about Danny.

This book picks up with the traumatized adult Dan Torrence he doesn't go by Danny anymore because he's grown-up. He now followed his father's footsteps and became an equally angry alcoholic. Danny kind of spend his life drifting from town to town never really settling down anywhere until he finally gives up drinking and settles down in the small town of Frasier where he works in a hospice and his shining allows him kind of comfort. He always is around when people are dying and make their passage. This earns him the nickname Dr. Shining. And there is female character name Abra and I'm not giving you any spoilers but that was the best part of this book.

This book was OK! I liked seeing Danny, I liked meeting Abra but it was weird too and it didn't mesh well with my understanding of the world of The Shining. I will not read Dr.Sleep again and I will not recommend that if you are starting out with Stephen King novel. Read The Shining first.
