Recently I bought a Panasonic Vierra 43” LED Full HD TV. I will write a review on the TV in a separate review. So, now it is time to opt for a Dish operator. As you know we have many Operators in the market. However, among the top brands we hear, Sun direct, TATA Sky, Airtel, DISH TV and many more. In this review, I will be writing my experience with DISH TV.
I opted for DISH TV because they are pioneer in the Dish arena and I got a special offer from Panasonic. I paid Rs. 1,000/- for the HD+ setup box(original price was Rs. 1,800/-) and as a welcome offer Dish TV offered full HD Pack free for the first month. The advantage of HD+ set up box is you can record the programs. This option is not available in the basic setup box.
To start with we have to login to the Dish TV website and register for the setup box. Once the funds have been paid, I received an SMS to my mobile. I can say the customer care is fast and I got a call in two hours. The executive appeared at my door in an hour after I received the call. He quickly took the measurements of the cable to be required and fixed the box and activated the connection within half an hour. Remote offered for the set-up box is good and have all the required options, including a direct recording button.
My children were eager to watch the channels and luckily, the set up was done fastly. And good thing is executive did not ask for any extra money. But I have experience in some other cases earlier.
Connection clarity is good and the HD channels are excellent. The connection was good and there are no disturbances in the telecast. HD Recording is good.
And coming to the packages, we do not get the exact blend of the channels to be chosen, but need to have some compromise. In any case the minimum amount you need to spend would be Rs. 330/- to watch all major channels and for full HD channels one need to spend Rs.495/-(including taxes) – whatever may be the combination of packs. Though I opted for full HD pack for Rs.495/- per month.
Dish TV provides some offers like pay for 3months+1month free offer for different packs, which is good. Also, you can recharge/top up the subscription on daily basis. One concern(but not a problem) is when the subscription closure date is nearby(last 3 to 4 days) whenever you change channels or start the TV, a message from DISH TV is flashed on the screen and stays for a minute and is a disturbance some times. But you can still go to the required channel.
Overall my experience is good with Dish TV and I am enjoying my three months’ subscription now.
