Story:

Anne Frank was a thirteen year old girl who was one of the Jewish victims of The Holocaust. This book is a dairy(which she got for her birthday) that she keeps during the time she and her family went into hiding in a secret room behind a bookcase at the place where her father worked. She wrote everyday about the horrors they faced and the situation in which they were living. Sometimes it was hard and sometimes it was easy. In 1944, they were captured and the whole family was separated. She died in one of the concentration camps after a few months.

Anne's father, Otto Frank, the only survivor of the family, returned and found out that the dairy was saved by one of the helpers. He published the dairy as a book after a few years as a tribute to his daughter. He added the parts where they were captured and were taken away. Thus giving us a chance to know what happened. The dairy was translated from its original Dutch language, first in English and then into over 60 languages.

The book reflects the amazing spirits of Anne during the war. The way she stayed positive and hopeful during such hard times. The book personally taught me not to complain about petty things. People have far more hard and serious problems that they are going through. Anne was able to stay positive even during the war, which would have been really hard with all the sadness and stress around her and with the constant fear of getting caught and being killed. Even with her life in grave danger she was a spirited young girl who did not give up! Her bravery is seen through her writing.

Since the book has been translated into many language, you can find one with the language you are comfortable in. The book is also available in some of the regional languages of India. The book is a good read and I definitely recommend it.
