Dhoom – 2 is no doubt much splashier and much grander than its prequel. The moment you see the action sequence in the beginning, you tend to believe its going to get better. The opening sequence
is indeed breath taking and you can hear the huffs puffs in the audiences when Hrithik creates magic with his moves and shakes to the beats of the title song.
Everything is going great fro this one. Then where does it fail? Yes, it fails. The answer is story. The cinematography is awesome. But screenplay sucks. The first half is highly paced. The second half goes at the snail pace. And there are few scenes that bore you to death. The one where Hrithik orders Aish to shoot him is pathetic. The one with Abhishek jumping off the cliff to catch Hrithik is highly irrational in every sense. The final chase in the end on the roads of Brazil does not impress much. And what was most surprising to me was how come the local Brazil police was not involved at all. After all Mr. A is an international thief. Abhishek and Uday are portrayed as if they were from Interpol. It gets exceedingly illogical and irritatingly cringed.
The plot is striking; on the other hand its the portrayal, which is missing throughout the film.It looks the director has shot few action scenes, dance numbers and clubbed them together to make an out and out typical Bollywood Masala Movie. The director Sanjay Gadhvi wants you to shelve your brains and take pleasure in this roller coaster ride.Having said that, dont we feel there are few things that are not forgivable? You cant fool us every time Mr. Director. He seems to be in awe of some of the Hollywood flicks, like MI - series and Bond movies.Do get us some interesting story on the lines of those Bond movies before scheduling your Dhoom – 3, wherein if rumors are anything to go by we will see Shahrukh Khan donning the role of next thief. For heavens sake please spare us the torture of seeing King Khan as international thief when you plan Dhoom –3. We saw what he did to Don. However, u can watch it once just for Hrithik
