Pros:
Money value package, delicious jalebi's
Cons:
Repetitive menu

The Dhabba Express in the Cenetoph road lane gives you food worth the money you give. Its always a notion that these dhabba’s are very expensive and not affordable by the commoner. But its a misconception. The buffet they provide is indeed very much of a value for money package. They provide you a buffet comprising of delicious punjabi food. The buffet is just 55 bucks. I promise you its indeed worth the money you give.

The menu of the buffet is generally like the one that follows. To start with you are given highly delicious mouth watering jalebi’s. These jalebi’s are the main crowd puller. People who taste these jalebi’s are sure to fall in love with it. It is one the restaurants specialities.

Then you have fresh cut vegetables to start of as salads. Added to this they also provide you with green sprouts which are highly nutritious. Then you have french fries or veg manchurian balls as a starter. Then going on to the main course, you have nan, roti’s and butter nan’s with a minimum variety of three side dishes. You will have a side dish made of aloo, then one with paneer and one with a mix of vegetables. Side dishes are of mostly semi gravy form which suits the naan. Then we have two rice varieties mostly a fried rice or a jeera pulav. Along with it there will be one more rice variety. Then we have the curd rice to finish off the buffet. The side dishes variety ranges from 3 different varieties to 6 different varieties. When you consider the fact that in alacarte, if you had the same quantity of food it’s sure that the price would have doubled.

The ambience of the restaurant is also needs a mentioning. The open air atmosphere with minimum lighting and mostly the tapes playing hindi melodies or ghazals, is probably a very enjoyable one. It forms a very cozy atmosphere with a little breeze adding on to it.

On a personal note I have always enjoyed my outing to the dhabba. As a matter of fact all my friends like it and we always enjoy our gathering there. Especially the Jalebi’s are our hot favourite. Added its also saved a lot of money when somebody has been entrusted to job of giving treats. In a group which mainly consists of pure gluttons ( me being one of the main culprits), it is indeed the best place.

So, if you havent been there I strongly recommend the buffet at dhabba express. Until recently the buffet was open only during the afternoons, but now we have the buffet dinner too extending upto the midnight. So if you enjoy eating and especially punjabi food with delicious jalebi’s the one place you can never miss is the buffet at The Dhabba express. So guys Rush…….
