I was using a DB bank Gold Card for last 9 months.
I have never defaulted on payments and never paid any late fees or other charges on the card.
One fine day (30thDec2008) I get a SMS saying

"Dear Customer,basis of our latest credit review we are closing your DB credit card account with immediate effect.Please clear all your dues outstanding on your db credit card"(sic)

It seems the bank does not have any systems in place
1)to intimate customers about the card being cancelled.
2) to send a closing statement of the card with dues outstanding.

I called up their phone banking number who gave me a weird reason ("current economic situation") as a reason for closing the account suddenly.They could not even mail the statement to me nor tell me the transaction details,all they could tell me were that this is the outstanding to be paid.

I will not be making a payment till the statement comes.I smell something fishy here,either the bank is closing down or winding up their India operations.I hope either ways its for the better.
