Dell inspiron 1525 laptop is expensive laptop compared to same specification laptops of acer/lenovo/HCL etc.

laptop is bulky and not very designed to carry easily. moreover its design(thicker at battery area and getting thinner at mouse area makes it even more weird. then adding salt, mouse and nearby area is silver in colour. Regular usage of mouse leaves a big'thumb' impression on mouse pad, which starts showing white colour of plastic and looks terribly bad(laptop starts giving impression as if it is very old and subjected to heavy usage). same is with the near by areas. at the edges(edge towards mouse pad and particularly near those small light indicator areas), it catches scratches very easily and start showing real colour of plastic(white) replacing silver. small round plastic padding on the frame of screen gives up easily and then it starts rubbing with main body(around mouse pad) making bad scratches on the frame of screen.

Battery backup is not up to mark. a brand new battery gives around 2-2.5 hours of backup and it starts reducing very fast. on average, withing 14-15 months you have to change battery.(a new battery costs around 3.5k) whereas other brands like acer and lenovo are still giving good battery backup even after 2-3 years.

Screen resolution is not very good. one can easily see small round pixels. screen brightness starts dimming and it comes more of yellowish with passage of time. Also dead pixel problem and lining problem occurs with no real reason. these few dead pixels are easily visible.

USB are 2 on each side but are placed one above another and if you want to use both, then firstly its quite difficult as some pendrives are not very sleek and does not leave enough space for other USB inlet. DVD drivers plastic cap comes out easily and then have to'paste' it again with quickfix. Hard disk is just 160 GB and it is not silent and makes click-click sound quite often.

Back side of screen where the Dell logo is placed have dull texture of paint which attracts scratches and are terribly visible making the laptop loosing its newness very early.
