Pros:
Confidence, Expression and Knowledge
Cons:
Fear and Nervousness

Be confident, be audible and be Clear, that’s what I had been told during my first speech in an auditorium in Surat. It was an official gathering to celebrate the annual day of the organization where
I used to work. Huge crowd, new faces, strange feeling, some leaders from the local political party and me on the stage and a pin drop silence in the hall and here I go with a sensible poem that was written by me in Hindi………….

“Badalte Waqt, Badalte Adarsh
Ab pal pal hain badalte warsh
Ye duniya hai ya toofan mail
Yahan rahne me mujhe nahi koi harsh

Desh ke rakshak hain desh ke bhakchak
Siksha hai inse koso dur, par kahlate hain sikshak
Pashuwon ka chin chara, aapas mein kiya batwara
Usse bhi pet na bhara, to liya yuriya ka sahara

Ab badalna hai bharat ko, karna hai sangharsh
Pap ka hoga ant, aur punya ka utkarsh”

Another source of inspiration for me was the confident speech of my friend Falguni who was also present in the ceremony, as we used to work together for the same company. She was the host of the evening and she was just marvelous in the dialogue delivery, lash with Shayaries and Mukhdas to ornament the night. She was the one who welcomed me on the stage and I was feeling little relaxing seeing her confidence, I thought why can’t I? She is a very well known member of this site, known by falsparsh , you should definitely read her excellent reviews.

My idea to write this poem here was to explain the sensitivity of my speech, facing some political leaders in front and saying something, which is unpleasant to them, was a courageous job, which I had done and, that was because of my great confidence.

It doesn’t matter how good the topic is, but it matters how good you present it. The presentability is the very important aspect of a speech i.e. how you express, how you act, how you deliver the dialogues, and how you maintain the eye contact with the audience. I was able to do all these and I felt having confidence within although I was little nervous during the start.

Well, to be a speaker one needs general intelligence and not the power to remember the speech. You need to feel the dynamic environment and the audience, and accordingly change the way you were going, but for that, you need to have detailed knowledge about the topic you are presenting and that requires lot of study and R & D. you might forget the speech but if you have the clearance about the topic and a way to express the things, you may go without a hesitation.

The Speech should be made keeping in mind the class of people you are going to present it to. The best speech is the one, which is simple, which is discreet in the sense, which is clear and revolves around the topic. It should be precise enough to prevent the audience from botheration. Your speech should be based on the factual information rather than theoretical examples because people are more eager to know about the truth and not about the principles.

The speech should be filled up with short and relevant examples, which can force the minds to transcend limitations.

At the last, I would like to share some tips for an excellent speech.

1.     Eat light and rich.
2.     Take a cool bath
3.     Don’t speak more and try to feel normal.
4.     Do take a long breathe before starting the speech
5.     Take a glass of normal water and then start
6.     Keep breathing normally during the speech
7.     Do maintain the pace of your speech and be little slow to gain the attraction of the audience and also to be clear.
8.     Be precise and don’t deviate from the topic

I hope you will find these tips useful though I believe that to be a good speaker is an inborn quality and you can improve it a little bit but can’t gain it purely.

“Gar man me ho vishwas, aur pyara ho andaaz
to jeet hi jaoge tum, is duniya ka sartaj”

With Luv,
Satyen
