Merry Christmas to all the viewers of Mouthshut.com. Hope this festive season brings in enough LOVE to erase the HATRED and enough MERRIMENT to erase the MISERY. Oh! I hope I am not getting deviated from the Topic that is how to deliver an effective speech or simply How to be an Effective speaker.

But this is the biggest hurdle that many of us fear to cross. Stage fear I will name it and yes it was once my best friend which was of no use and was only demoralizing me. I was afraid too initially but I learnt how to conquer it and now I am happy as I can stand bold and strong and deliver what I want to. I will just portrait some of the key things that can indeed help us to be a better speaker.

> First key thing is that to have self-belief. Once we have faith in us we can over come the Fear that suddenly pops up in front of a bunch of crowds. So believe and let your words flow.

> The next thing is do a proper homework about the Topic. WHAT we speak really matters but HOW we speak will add some light to it. What I mean is that we need to be comfortable whether on Stage or off stage. We need to be flexible enough to use our hands on certain occasions to throw some of the standard gestures which will add some charm to our Speech.

> The next important thing is TARGET the AUDIENCE. We need to check what aged groups people will be there listening to our speech.

> Now a small Pause is a key thing. We need to make sure that we give a little pause after some lines so that we can see the reaction of the audience and then proceed accordingly. We need to make sure that they are also getting involved in the speech with some gestures like a clap or a gentle smile or sometimes a Laugh. I have really made of the people laugh out badly during some of the seminars.

> The last key point is KISS. Yes keep it Short and Simple.

There is nothing that we can not do. We just need to develop the skills and the Art of Delivering an effective speech. I hope everyone will enjoy reading the above lines:)
