watching deewar everytime makes u come face to face with an absolute truth.... nobody else deserves more importance than our mothers.. nothing can take away the respect and admiration our heart ekes out ..    the story of two sons ( one good and one bad) and a mother caught in between....the story touches our heart in some way. theres shashi kapoor playing the cop and amitabh playing the bad guy..

but in a lot of ways the movie is based on mother’s emotions and dilemma. here we see nirupa roy playing the role of shashi kapoor and amitabh’s mother. what more to bring out mother’s importance than the simple word’s uttered by shashi
’’ mere paas maa hai’’   when amitabh starts listing his worldly possessions. and actually amitabh has no answer !!


nirupa roy has to make a difficult choice... she knows that one of her sons is earning through illicit means and the other is lawful. Both are her own blood but there is always a fight between the two sons..( between crime and punishment) .She therefore decides to take the side of the lawful son.

the movie has been directed brilliantly . the emotions and dialogues are simple but yet very effective. It makes us take note of our reverence towards mothers. How many times we take her for granted. She cooks for us, cleans our room/clothes , yet its just that we assume she is doing her duty.. if given a choice to watch a movie with our friends or spend some time with mom, many of us would actually select the former option... and she would smile and ask us to enjoy ourselves....


when we are kids, its the mother’s face we see, know... not Gods’s. She is the one who takes care of us through thick and thin... the least we can do is to give back some love and attention , listen to her... spend some time with her....


deewar is a movie which can be seen umpteen no. of times... yet you would not get bored of it...
