Although I have seen this movie n number of times both in theatre, Video as well as television.Very recently I happened to see Dewaar in theatre.
It was a Sunday, to my suprise this movie
was running houseful and I bought the ticket in black. Its a movie I am sure everyone in thier life can relate to. It expresses struggle, hardship and honesty. I have always admired
Yashji for his action-oriented movies rather than his romantic movies.Let it be
Deewar, Trishul, Kala Pathar or Mashaal. Although the story was inspired from Ganga Jamuna and Mother India but still makes a blueprint for other film maker to get inspired. Deewar will be remembered for performance whether its Amitabhs, Shashis, Parveens, or Nirupa Roys.
It will be remembered for its powerful dialouges (do I need to mention which dialogues?), Strong story and screen play and ofcourse VIJAY. Yes, I mean VIJAY the character. The angry Young man who struggles and fights against all odd.
Music by Panchamda is also worth mentioning. An overall good film to remember. The only regret I have is Amitabh not winning a Filmfare Award for this movie. Do you think Sanjeev Kumars performance in Andhi was better than Amitabhs in Deewar? A question which will haunt you for ever.
