We get into Dalhousie through Amritsar(200 kms.). Around 6 hrs journey from Amritsar International Airport. Never approach prepaid taxi counter as they charge double. We could arrange a Travera at half the rate(~3600 /-) by internet quotation. Hotels near subash chowk are good. In non season it can be bargained. We stayed at Hotel Dalhousie Palace.
Almost all standard hotels have in-house restaurant & reasonably priced. The Original Sher-e punjab(middle one out of the three) at subash chowk have excellent foods both veg n non-veg. Khajjiar, Chamera lake a must visit spot. Taxi operator union at Subash may be approached for sight seeing.
