Do check the pics.

I was highly overwhelmed with my first daikin purchase, a year back.the model then purchased was the 1.8 ton non-inverter, ft60gv1g6.

It cools the living area of 250sqft, and the experience so far has been more than satisfactory.the ac is a pleasure to use, and on can completely rely one the daikin products, given the reputation of the world leader in climate control they have.1 year on, the outdoor unit retains the same look-no faded parts, no faded brand sticker, and no degraded sheet metal parts.after sales service of this particular brand is excellent, calls are promptly attented to, and the quality of workmanship is excellent.

However, the hitachi logicool i, of which i had been a great admirer, had started showing difficulties while working.it had been 9 yrs since it was put to service, and it had been relentlessly workin thorughout the harsh delhi summers.i never had any problem encountered with that ac, however given the fact that i reside in close proximity to noida, the corrosive atmosphere had shown no mercy on the window ac, and it made sense to buy a new one, a split which is more resistant to this atmosphere, and of course, it has its usual benefit.also, the efficiency of acs in general has improved a lot, so this was also a fact which was pressing enough.window ac as a new purchase was out, as the reason is stated, so i didnt waste my time looking at them either.

Then began my usual search for a split ac, which met my requirements.since .the ac was supposed to cool an area of 170sq ft, master bedroom of the top floor flat in delhi, where temperatures reach as high as 45.c.also, the outdoor unit was to be subjected to strong sunshine, draught and rain-since it was to

be placed on the roof, like my previous one.

So keeping these facts in mind, i shortlisted the following brands.

At first was the usual ogeneral aga18act-no matter what people say about the company, i always liked its products, and one of my purchases has been working for the past 7 yrs now.but i was forced to reconsider, given the fact the pathetic after sales service, and irresponsible service franchisees.however, i still maintain that the products are excellent.

The second was the toshiba daiseikai. Now, again a not so common ac in inda, but its a major giant in the europe and south asia, with leading efficiencies. Its a jv with carrier, and is collectively called the toshiba carrier corporation.now again, the product being excellent, was marred by poor sales, and the waiting time was around 2 weeks after purcase.also, except for a few dealers in jor bagh, golf links, and lodhi road, it was hard to find a dealer selling toshiba.

Finally, i was again left with daikin.though a costly choice, but a practical one in delhi, where people crib for good after sales, and daikin in particular is one from which i dont have any complaints.they attend the calls the very next day no matter how many times you call(if you are somewhat unsatisfied with their diagnosis(which rarely happens) .excellent on field support staff, with good knowledge on acs, and handling too is good.

Again, for my purchase I wanted to stick to the same dealer-ace technomark. I went to their sec18 showroom in noida to get a price quote. Though i was much interested in daikin inverter, I was told no to buy it since it cant withstand voltage fluctuations common in delhi and noida.so the only choice being the g-series, non inverter daikin.(5 star rated).

The ac was purchased on the evening, 15th june, and arrived the next afternoon from the godown.i unpacked the ac myself just to check all the contents were intact.the initial pics have been uploaded by me in my album too.same indoor unit, but the outdoor unit was of a relatively smaller size(but still bigger than that of a ogeneral).the condenser was blue, and I wasnt surprised to see the thermostat on the outdoor unit either.the usual made in thailand by daikin industries thailand, for export to daikin india ltd.

The tech specs are-

1570w input, 6.9 amperes(though the consumed is 6.1 amperes), 5300w i.e, 18000btu units.

It comes with all the feature i mentioned in my previous daikin review.

The left-right swing, 3d airflow, off timer with night mode, self diagnosis, auto restart, and yes, the highest airflow of 650 cfm, with 5 fan speeds.the outdoor fan also has variable speeds.the unit is 5 star bee rated, and is one of the latest premium segment offering form daikin-the g series.

The indoor fins are all aluminium, unlike what most manufactures stick to these days:alloys, to save cost.

Even plastics, tough outdoor unit, and the stainless steel base plate and feet -all reprensenting daikin quality.

The installation began on 18 june. Since the distance between the units was a huge 27 ft, the installation people had a hard time working.also, i was assured of the good work, as it was the same person who installed my previous daikin. They were equipped with a core drill(not like those usual chheni, hammer types)to prevent wall damage.though, after all the work was done, i was some how unsatisfied with the cooling.the guy told me to use it for the night and inform him the next day of the status.

However, after he left i rushed up to the terrace and found the return valve frozen.i thought the gas has leaked, and informed him that very moment.the next day he came with the r22 cylinder, but befor that he suspected something else.he found the capillary to be blocked, and said the unit was defective.he straight away demanded for a new unit, which arrived after a span of 3 hours.the previous one was taken back, and now i was with the new condensing unit.the pics here are that of the old outdoor unit.

It was 7 pm by now, so its understood it couldnt be installed, so, the installer came at 10am next day and did all the remaining job.he said for the first time in 20yrs he found a defective daikin, nevertheless, i had already got one.

Everything done, the ac was switched on and gave a blast of cool air.it was such a respite on that humid

june afternoon.the cooling is very effective .we set it at 23, and the room remains chilled throughout.i wold say, splits are a bit more effective in removing moisture given the fact that evaporator is of a bigger size.

Another benefit of going for the same brand was relieving oneself of calling different places to get the ac fixed.

However, the installation cost me a bomb.it was a total of 11800 inr.it included 27 ft copper pipe, 50ft wiring, and the channels too, which i believe people hardly use in india.its like the usual channels to cover the wiring at home, with a sliding cover.the insulation was superlon, which doesnt degrade under sun, and is heat resistant.

The outdoor unit is whisper silent.one doesn't hear it working unless you see the fan rotating.the indoor unit too, of bespoke quality, with a user friendly handset.the remote, the indoor unit and the outdoor unit, all are commons in the daikin international portfolio.

So there's no difference in designs over regions, and makes the availability of service parts easier.also, though daikin doesnt advertise much of its features, most of them go unsaid.like the outdoor thermostat, bigger indooe unit, blue fin condenser, rust proof base plate.daikin also remains at the forefront in aircon technology, being a leader in inverter technology.

The total cost turned out to be 45000inr.

I am completely satisfied with this product, and hope not to encounter problems in the near future.lets see what the bill will be like for the next 2 months.

Glad to purchase an other daikin, and of course, its as calm as it can get.
