Do not waste your time and energy by visiting this place. It's in very bad shape and locals are already aware of it that is why hardly any one visits here. The musical fountain is a very dirty place full of mosquitoes. It seems they have never cleaned this area for years. They have age old fountains with some coloured lights that go o and off like diwali lights and have nothing to do with the music. There is a white wall on the back drop on which they project vulgar song videos while fountains keep running and coloured lights blinking. Most of your time will go in defending the mosquitoes followed by malaria later on(if you are unlucky).
The guards at the gate were seen harassing the couples asking them for individual id cards and home photo clicks to prove that they are married couples. If the surnames in the id cards do not match then you will have to shell out Rs 50 bribe to go in. So next time you visit this place.carry your marriage certificate too. Its surprising that they have so much objection to couples entering the memorial and park, but show vulgar song sequences and adult scenes to the visitors with children on large screen.
The play area for children is in tumbled down state. The adjoining toilets have unbearable stink.
The photo exhibition is very poor and has been done by some brainless moron. It does not even say anything about the first sound and first colour film.
I think the garden and the exhibition is just being run senselessly and effortlessly because they have an obligation to maintain the same. They are not interested to welcome the guests and the married couples are treated as criminals. Getting discouraged here people prefer to go and enjoy at the nearby Buddha smarak, which is a better and clean place to spend time. Couples are welcomed at Bhudda smarak and families are seen enjoying the greenery. Even the entry is free at Buddha smarak unlike the Dada Phadke park that charges Rs 10 per person to leave you with mosquitoes.
In short, do not waste your time and money at Phalke memorial by travelling about 10 Kms from Nasik. There are other better places to go and use your energy.
