Kindly help me to share this post to maximum people.Its to bring accountability in courier services and prevent injustice to people. D22840813.
I transported my brand new 48 inch LED TV using DTDC from mangalore to punalur kerala, The dtdc office guy at mangalore assured me safety and he charged me almost 6000rs(180rs per kg, TV with orginal packing, wooden box for further protection).DTDC guy visited my home to check the package and he assured me its safe, he took it in a regular autoriksha to the courier office in an awkard manner despite me warning him.
It reached punalur after three or four days and when I went to collect it, it was a horror show, they dnt even have space to store things despite being the office for many years, its in the first floor of an old building where even climbing thru stairs is difficult never mind carrying a tv upstairs.i was wondering how they have kept it up and to my horror it was like fallen down and the guys over there are not even aware that its an expensive television.
When I opened the package, to my worst fears the led tv display panel was broken!.Its as if it was banged with some blunt objects or it was placed under some heavy objects with blunt edge.I tried to contact the customercare many times both cochin and bangalore office, none was picking up then I called the agent at mangalore.
He made me talk to some person at the office who was trying to say thats its not there responsibility for the damage though it happened thru their service.I mailed the so called customercare so many times, they didnt even show the basic courtesy of replying back.I was so much horrified and shattered by the lack of accountability and regards for the customer despite charging so much money.I had to shell out 40000 rs to repair tv along with the lost 6000 for transporting.
