Why do we use courier companies? Well, may be because we trust them to deliver our packages at the destinations within 2 to 3 days.
But does it always happen? I mean do they always deliver the packages in 2 to 3 days? Its a question not an allegation.
Occasion - Raksha Bandhan. We had to send two packages.
Destinations - Jamshedpur & Gurgaon.
Since I have used DTDC on few occasions in the past & was satisfied with their timely delivery, I decided to use their services once again.
On 3rd-Aug-09 by 10 AM, I handed over two packages to DTDC & was assured by them that the packages will be delivered on 5th-Aug-2009. Looking at their track record of my previous experience with them, I had full confidence in them that they will not let me down.
But the unexpected did happen. This time they fail to deliver the packages on the date committed by them. The package at Jamshedpur was delivered on 9th afternoon & till 10th evening the package was not delivered at Gurgaon.
Now the sigh of relief that I took with the introduction of courier companies, has begun to choke. Giving me a feeling of suffocation.
Its not raining here in Kakinada & the outside temperature doesn't seem to be coming down. With the delayed deliveries of packages, my wife's temperature has become directly propotional to the outside temperature.
I personally feel DTDC management should look into the matter because service is the product that they sell, which unfortunately has started to perform below par. There are few more reviews on the delays caused by them.
The area they should scrutinise is of their franchise. Franchise might be a nice way to make money but to do that at the risk of loosing their reputation is certainly not the call of the day.
But by just finding WHO is not enough. Because WHO is not a solution, its a scapegoat. With WHO they also need to find out WHY & HOW? This will show them the crux of the problem & they can workout a solution.
With my recent experience with DTDC even though I am disappointed but I have decided to give them a benefit of doubt just because of their previous record of timely deliveries.
I will use them again next time & if the packages are not delivered on time, I will have to look for other options.
