I visited DMART Jayanagar mall today, about half an hour back for the festival purchase. As it was evening and festival is round the corner, the shop was overcrowded with people shopping. I had gone with my husband and daughter. After purchasing the necessary items I went to the billing counter-1. The cashier at this counter was missing, and there were lot of us waiting for his return. He did not turn up for almost half an hour and when he came back, he first said that the counter was for baskets, but the counter for baskets was counter no.2. When I pointed that to him, he made us(customers with trolleys) stand there and started billing people who were at the counter no.2 with baskets, when I and others raised objection to his action he started billing people with trolley, and when my turn came, he said he cannot as that counter was for people with items less than 10. First thing is he had seen I had little more than 10 items, and instead of making me wait for 45 minutes in the queue, he could have told me politely that the counter is for items less than 10. Second thing, he billed baskets which had more than 10 items also, though that counter was for less than 10 items. When I questioned him about that, he did not even have the courtesy to speak to me, a middle aged lady, instead said I cannot do anything to him and I can dare try that, and that if I object to his behavior, he will make sure that I am not billed anywhere. I went to the customer support counter in the same ground floor and brought it to the notice of the person in charge, who was of little help and he called his superior cash officer Mr. Manoj who saw this man billing more than 10 items from basket and other trolleys, told those customers to move to other counters. There are so many super bazars in Bangalore, and I am a regular to most of them where customer satisfaction is the utmost priority. I visit DMART also regularly and now with this horrifying incident, it makes me think 100 times whether I should visit this store at all. This cashier Mr. Azrat Ali, was so rude, I don't know the kind of people DMART is employing. This reflects the quality of service rendered by DMART. I hope with this review at least, DMART will train its employees to be polite to customers, especially ladies. This man and his superiors are of the attitude that if one customer is lost, then they are not going to lose anything, and this man at the billing counter was of the attitude that I am at his mercy and if he feels like billing my items he will bill, otherwise no. He was behaving as if he was doing me a favor by billing my items and that I should fall at his feet and surprisingly, his superiors did not dare question him as to why he was rude. Instead they were also telling customers that they don't mind losing customers and they are not bothered about anything.
