I happened to visit their newly opened D-Mart, Siddapura, Bangalore store a few days back as some of my acquaintances told me about the great discounts offered by this store. I went of a weekend evening and found a little difficult to park my vehicle as it was crowded. After few minutes of wait, I was able to park and get into the store.
Space:
The store is big enough and lot of space to move around the products racks. So there was no pushing by fellow customers and it was pleasant to shop except at Apparel and footwear sections that are congested. A rearrangement is required in these 2 areas
Product Range:
The range of products and variety of brands of a particular product is good.
Price:
The prices of the products were unbelievably low. I got a Rs 50 discount on a Nutella Chocolate spread. I never got so much discount on this product anywhere. Not just this product, but the discounts were amazing on other products also. I think D-Mart will make money on volumes. So it is a genuine discount.
Billing
There were good number of billing counters and the billing was quick and smooth. While shopping at bigbazaar, I usually have to wait for a long time and found discrepancy between quoted price at the products racks and in the billing several times. There were no such surprises at D-Mart. In Bigbazaar bills, it is difficult to find the cost of a product as theirs bills don't display the cost, quantity, rate of a product clearly. It is always a confusion with big bazaar bills. But here the bills are crystal clear with product name, rate, quantity and cost displayed clearly in a single line.
Cons
Fruits and vegetables are not being sold here. D-Mart should start selling fruits and vegetables also so that one can finish shopping at one place.
Over all it is a good store that offers great discounts.
