Well, I’ve been wanting to upgrade my 64 MB memory in my Compaq computer for a few months now. I’ve been checking out prices and doing a lot of comparison shopping..until I came across Crucial.com!
And this was my final destination. I didn’t have to look any further for the best price around.

My particular computer, Compaq-Presario-5000US has enough ’’space’’ to add on 256 MB of memory, and the prices I was coming across while I checked around was between $59.00 and $89.00 for 256 MB.

Then someone suggested I take a look at Crucial.com. Actually the real name is Crucial Technologies, out of Meridian, Indiana, USA. And boy was I surprised!

What you do is go step by step, through ’’drop down’’ menus and choose what you are looking for, (Ex: PC, motherboards, digital electronics, servers, printers, etc)....I chose PC and was directed to another ’’drop down’’ menu asking for the manufacturer, so I chose Compaq, which led me to another ’’drop down asking for which Compaq(Presario) and then to a final ’’drop down’’ asking me for the model name(5000US). After that, the screen changed over and showed me all the different types of compatible memory for my particular computer. Starting with 32 MB for $12.59, all the way to 256 MB for $27.81. So I chose the 256 MB upgrade. Crucial.com then directed me to a secure site and got the necessary paperwork and credit card info from me. They added 6% sales tax, and it all came out to under $30.00.

My order was listed as a ’’2 day’’, Federal express delivery.

Lo and behold, I got it the very next day.

Crucial.comalso accepts Visa, MasterCharge, American Express and it honors overseas orders as well as in the US.

Crucial offers many different types of deliveries. 2 day federal express (I chose that one online) They also offer,
International Express, Next day, priority mail and a few more types of delivery.

The site was easy to navigate, and looked good too.

Whatever you order, in with the packing slip, comes complete instructions on how to install. They also offer a 100% money back guarranty.

So, if you’re in the market for some computer upgrades, I’d check with Crucial.com and save yourself some time, aggrivation and money!
