Although I am yet to finish last 10-12 pages of the book I feel tempted to share my opinion on the book.

i read it on my night long journey from delhi to mumbai in train and found the book to be a good companion. there are a feew areas where one could point improvements in the book, yet I feel its a great piece of first writing for a young Indian. although arindam is not unknown for all his workshops and press articles keep popping up regularly... I think he is even a better speaker than a writer... he is actually mesmorising on stage. I happened to hear him at the function of Delhi College of Engineering few months ago... he almost made other speakers run for cover with his exceptional public speaking skills and ideas. I think one has to listen to him first to fully enjoy the book. I was lucky to get my book signed by him personally.

Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch basically emphasises the importance of a positive outlook in life. Failure should not impel us to give up the quest for success. the book certainly makes one sit up and take notice.

The author points out that there are three dimensions to success — the attitude dimension, the skill dimension and the knowledge dimension. In the various chapters of the book he stresses upon the importance of cultivating a sense of humour and gives practical suggestions in the art of achieving success – to impress the people who matter, not only with your knowledge and skill but also your manners and behavior.

the first three chapters are an interesting reasearch of anecdotes, ideas and phrases which we may have heard in pieces... some are new and original too. the best part of the book is its readability and easy comprehension. my sister whom I think is dumb could discuss few intellectual ideas after reading it! (i hope she doesn't read this)

there are surprisingly few grammatical errors which I didnt expect in such an exageratedly marketed book. the most original part I guess is the 'india' theory in the last couple of chapters which is very inspiring and tempting.

in fact most reviews on this site have touched the book in fine print.. i'll stop here for the moment. but i'll surely add lot of things to this review soon.

My last word is that this book seems to be a sincere effort by the author and is surely a good one time read.

regards

rahul
