I bought a second hand esteem about a month back with the intention of converting to LPG, as I was convinced with the safetly and economics of the same. I did 2000 Kms on petrol spending abut 10000 Rs
on petrol before I got time to go in for the conversion and boy am I happy.
First reaction - Positives
After I did the conversion to GAS, I never expected it to drive so so so smooth. I never felth this way after driving her for 2000 kms. It never jerked as it used to do when i used to drive it on petrol. I have the habit of driving my car on higher gears and it used to jerk a lot. After conversion it is smooth as silk, it does not jerk and boy it is a pleasure to drive her. It does not stall or jerk even in slow traffic. Car feels as good as new and the best part is it suits my drivging style. I would recommed it to those who want to save money but also for those who want a smooth, jerk free drive.
First reaction - Negatives
AC configuration is knocked up, may be the technecians who did the conversion have fiddled with the AC and now it just does not seem right. Every time I turn off the AC, the engine goes into very high revs and takes some time to come back to normal. Also the bkower configurations have been changed. Im sure this was done by the conversion guys and not by the fact that the car now runs on LPG. This just goes on to prove that conversion must be done from only the best and reputed dealers. I did my conversion from LOVATO sole authosied dealer in Chennai and he screwed up. may be my fate.
I have driven only about 50 kms on GAS, will give you another update in about a month after i run my car on gas.
