One of MS members , eyesopen( Sunil)asked me , have you read “Conversations with God”, that made me locate the book and read it. Wow, what an experience! I am thankful to Sunil for having suggested it. Every one of us, I believe , from time to time face many questions within us and the questions keep nagging us unobtrusively nevertheless we are aware of the nagging.

Is there a God?, What is God? ,If there is where is he? ,Why cant we see him?, Is it him or her? ,What is a prayer?, Are prayers answered? ,Why are we afraid and of what? , Why are we here? , Where do  we go from here? What is death?. Is there life after death? If God created the world and everything in it, why are there so many imperfections?, If God is all perfect and all loving, why is there so much of misery and suffering?, Why are there wars. Earthquakes, floods, famines, why do so many innocents die? Is it retribution? If so, for what? ; like these, questions, questions and questions. In my opinion, such questions if left unattended to , create a messy clutter in our mind sooner or later and impairs our efficiency and thought process. Just as we clean up our attic, garage, desk, or bookshelf once in a while, I think we need to do it with our head too. Just envision taking up the “pending” tray, sorting out and arranging the papers, discarding the useless ones, prioritizing and disposing off the pending papers. To do this , books like this one are of immense help. This is a trilogy, a three-volume book. The author claims to have taken dictation from God, answers to various questions raised. Author asks God, every conceivable question and receives perfectly sensible. Logical, complex yet profound answers that bring together the deeper meaning of all beliefs and traditions. Though, neither the author, nor God, talk about any particular religion or faith in particular, there surely are gems of wisdom drawn from all religions and scriptures. I ,having studied a little bit of Vedanta, ancient Indian scriptures like Upanishads, Vedas, and Bhagawad Gita, etc. found many concepts, explanations and assertions in the book same as those in our scriptures. Author mentions Krishna, Swami Paramhansa Yogananda ( Yogi and author of the best selling “ Autobiography of a Yogi” ), Kundalini, Chakras, Meditation, Deepak Chopra, and Karma. First volume deals with an individual’s life, basic issues, truths, and primary understanding of personal matters and issues.

Second volume contains more far reaching issues, global matters, society & world including politics, economy, education, socio-political system, governments, etc. and comes out with revolutionary alternatives and stunning ideas. Third volume contains still broader issues including the extra terrestrial and issues of the Universe as a whole, the Cosmos. I am not going to describe what is written in the book, I will confine to my own experiences of reading the book.

This is an amazing, stupendous, touching, stunning and disturbing book that shakes you up, makes you think and re-think, and answers a lot of questions and helps you clear the clutter, without any religious mumbo-jumbo, philosophical (unintelligible &confusing) premises, or any fancy jargon. Despite the turbulence and shock waves that the book generates, one feels a sense of serenity and calm after having finished the book. For all those with an open mind, a limitless curiosity, and sincere desire to seek the truth, irrespective of the fact whether you are a believer or an atheist, irrespective of the religion or faith you practice, I strongly recommend this book. It’s an unforgettable experience.
