I would like to share my experiences with Competent Automobiles Co. Ltd. over the past five months. I do not have any vested interest

in either promoting or disapproving of the dealership. My attempt would be to be as unbiased as possible so that prospective buyers or existing Maruti Suzuki car owners in the National Capital Region (New Delhi/Gurgaon) may benefit before deciding whether to engage in a relationship with Competent Automobiles Co.

          

COMPETENT has, undoubtedly, the largest dealer/service network for Maruti Suzuki vehicles in the National Capital Region. They also have a couple of dealerships in Himachal Pradesh. COMPETENT is a public company whose shares are listed on Mumbai Stock Exchange. Their size and reach was the primary reason that I chose COMPETENT over other dealers when I decided to buy my Suzuki SX4 in the month of May 2007.

          

COMPETENT has its largest/flagship showroom and service centre near the Hero Honda factory in Gurgaon (A-25, Infocity, Sector 34). This spanking new showroom-cum-service centre opened some time in the first quarter of 2007 and is housed in a newly constructed, well laid-out and spacious building. The location, however, is a bit out of the way for most urban Gurgaonites. It is approximately 8 kilometres from IFFCO Chowk. Though the premises are clean and tidy, it is located in an inaccessible, dirty and shabbily maintained industrial area with little public transport access.
