I visited Columbia Asia Hospital, Whitefield - Bangalore for the first time and had the worst experience. We went for my Dad's complete health check-up. Once I entered to the hospital, I felt very relaxed and happy that I bring my Dad here, as the look-n-feel, ambiance, staff-courtesy was very good, very appealing. "All glitters are not gold" suits this hospital.
Anyways, we started the procedure. All went well until we reach the Cardiology dept. Doctors did some tread-mill test for my Dad(who has undergone bypass surgery earlier in his life) and they found my Dad's heart is not functioning well as it should be. As per them, there should be some major blockage in his heart. It was a trap!
They created the scene so well and made the environment so serious that a tough guy like me, also felt nervous. They started scaring us and all these drama was happening in front of the patient, my Dad. How unethical! My mom was also present there. She was shocked after getting this heart-breaking news. Dr. Asuthosh and Dr. Vinod said we need to do the angiography immediately and need to admit the patient asap. I inquired the cost. They quoted it around 25000 Rs.
I didn't feel it right and made my mind for a second opinion. Same day evening, we went for Apollo and did the checks done(ECG, Echo) for my dad. Reports were absolutely normal. Cardiologist Dr. Kapil from Apollo thoroughly did the test and confirmed that my Dad's heart is functioning perfectly well. No problem at all!
After getting this relaxing news, we concluded that it was a money-making way by Columbia Asia Hospital, Whitefield - Bangalore. How bad and unethical it was! I strongly don't recommend anybody to visit this hospital.
Why I took so much of time to give my review? Reason is simple. I don't want anyone to get trapped, how we got. Always go for second opinion if you come across anything like this.
A sincere suggestion / request to Columbia Asia Hospital, Whitefield - Bangalore: Don't treat your patients in such a way. We come to you with great hope that you will treat us, not use us to make money. Treating patient is a noble deed. Hope you work on it!
