I recently approached columbia asia Hebbal(29th June and 01st July) as I had a get a 2nd set of diagnostics done, my family doctor demanded it as he wasn't sure of the diagnostics done at Apollo Clinic, HBR Layout.
I had mild fever with body aches, typical of a viral fever.
Here's what happened to me.
I was slapped with a 12000 bill, with diagnostics ranging from blood culture, Dengue, Malaria(I agree till here) followed by tests for TB(TB test for fever?) and then followed by X-Rays for pelvic area, chest and skull(X-ray will diagnose fever?)
This was hilarious.
These guys will milk you to the max, shamelessly.
Reminded me of bangkok, the first thing that comes out of their mouths is'BATH'(local currency), even if you are simply asking for directions.
Same way, staff at columbia asia are trained to do one and only one thing skillfully, which is to open mouth and spread hands for money, bills, unending tests, unending consultancy, more money. They were 1 step short of doing and MRI scan on me for my fever. I mean they charged me full consultation fees for a follow up visit! The desk clerk refused to let me see my doctor for a follow up until I paid 600 again.
I am not sure of their medical skills and capabilities(I got ok after a few days, without taking any medicines), but I got impressed with their unending desire to milk customers.
I mean if money was the only reason these guys are running this hospital, why not try a moral and diversified business line, like stock brokering?
Bottom line, don't go to this place, they will squeeze all money out, but don't have the required medical expertise, etiquette or morality. And I am not even talking about medical skills of doctors, let alone professionalism of support staff.
