This was when we Pune MSeans decided to have a meet and we started hunting for a suitable place which is less crowded, safe and comfortable so we can chat, sing, laugh and enjoy to the fullest.
I thought of CCD, Baner road as the road itself is not crowded on weekends as well as due to swine flu scare not many people go to restaurants.
The staff: I will start with staff as I spoke to the CCD person over phone and he happily agreed to reserve a nice and cozy corner for MSeans.
The staff is very co operative, friendly and helpful. These people arranged for the extra space required by us to keep our instruments and gadgets.
Ensured our privacy and let us sit for good 3 and half hours completely undisturbed.
The accessibility: CCD on Baner road is very conveniently located just ahead of Food Bazaar.
Very convenient for people living in a radius (Aundh, Baner, Pashan, Balewadi etc) of 5 kms as there is no other great coffee place around in the same area. This is the only good place for fresh coffee.
The ambiance: The Ambiance is great except a few old tables and chairs which somehow do not go with the place at all. Aroma of fresh coffee, ACs on and enough ventilation. At times some
corners are dimly lit ( I guess it's a part of CCD strategy to provide privacy to its customers ).
Huge walls completely covered by nice Pics and graphics. The place definitely uplifts the mood.
They have provided some space outside as well where you can sit in the natural air watching the pune life with a coffee mug in your hand.
The Music: Though this too is a part of ambiance but I would like to mention as it was never so loud to disturb us. Music was soothing and there was a mix of old and new numbers. (We were not bothered about it too as we were completely engrossed in our own discussion)
The coffee: What I really checked discreetly was the hygiene part as to me, this is something you can’t compromise irrespective of the swine flu pandemic or otherwise.
The staff was equipped with masks, gloves and frequent cleaning of the place was something I observed there.
We had a variety of tea & coffee like Assam tea, Cappuccino, cold coffee and frappe.
The coffee was great. My frappe took a little more time :-( but its ok!
We chatted, sang, laughed and enjoyed.
A lot happened over coffee.
