Well, someone call the ASCI ( the one advertised by late Priya Tendulkar ).

Yeah Man!! I really do think its very very high time we stopped spending our precious time lloking at unimaginative ads like these. I mean...ha ha...’’cool shirt, haath mein thanda...yaani Coke’’. Boy !! Thats the geeziest punch line I’ve ever heard in my whole goddamned 20 years. Is there any way we can protest against these ads??

We’ve already got such a huge problem on our hands with the cable rates skyrocketing like hell and each and every programme is strewn with ads like hell and high water. I once calculated the time taken by ads during an episode of ’Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’ (no, I am not insane...I just did it to win an argument with mom). the serial goes on for 30 minutes, and exactly 15 of them were devoted to the ad almighty!! Surprising ? .... hardly !!!

I think we should do some more public trashing of ads like these just so these multi-millionare ad directors get some sense knocked in. The ads nowadays are turning into mini bollywood films. Hero, heroine, sidekick(s?), even villians sometimes. The basic thing is...no storyline.

Please do improve your standards guys. I really think the Fevicol and other Pidilite brands like fevi-kwick and stuff are great promotional campaigns...so is Amul, which is easily the best print campaign in the country. No one even come close. The ads on the back of Amul lorries and vans are very very funny, satirical and truly well thought.

Believe me, if I see that ASCI ad again, I’m gonna note down the address and number and send them a copy of this review. In the meantime, if any of you guys knows the address, drop me a line or better still, encourage everyone to drop a line to the council themselves. Its high time we gave these stupid copywriters a good kick on the backside...or better still...why don’t we hit them on the head with that bottle of ’THANDA’ .
