I had been holding a Citibank (Master Card) Silver Credit Card since 1997. I had been using it very regularly and it helped me a lot when I needed it. But of late I found the behaviour of Citibank and
its officials quite insulting.
In the beginning of this year, an official of Citibank visits my house after taking appointment to get some forms filled up for giving me a Gold Credit Card. I was told that Citibank was offering me a Gold Credit Card free of cost (perhaps on the basis of extensive use of my Silver Card in and out of India). I had happily filled the form which was brought by the official of the Citibank. I was informed that I will receive my Gold Card shortly.
When I did not receive the same for some time, I wrote to them about the date when I would be receiving the same. The reply was quite insulting. I was told that since I was using a Silver Card (International), I will not be issued a Gold Card.
I felt insulted at this. I have now stopped using the Silver Credit Card since then.
