Choosing an Air Conditioner

Samsung sells, but gives no service.

13th May 2008.
Bought 4 new ACs from Samsung - 1 hasn’t worked from day 1, and 3 weeks later, no-one from Samsung has even looked at it.
I bought 4 split ACs of 1.5 tons each for my house in Lonavla. They were installed, and i was informed on the phone that they had been tested. When i went there, i found that 2 units had been cross connected, and 1 AC did not cool at all.
The dealer registered the complaint with Samsung, but no service for over 2 weeks.
I personally registered a complaint with Samsung, and was informed that the technician would visit on a Saturday. I took the day off from work, and waited the whole day. Every time I called, i was told thet the technician was "en route", and that my complaint would be resolve on the day. 3 days later, still no technician, only promises from Samsung to send someone ’tomorrow’.
So, no more Samsung products for me, or for those i know. The dishonesty is unacceptable.
I also have 4 LG split ACs in my Mumbai home. No problem with the machines or with service.
So, friends, avoid Samsung.

The non-working Samsung split ac still does not work. After many calls and complaints, the service technician came on 17th May (complaint was lodged on 6th May!), charged some gas, tightened a loose connection, tested the AC - OK. The next day, back to square 1 - no cooling!

Now I am waiting for service on 24th May, as the serviceman only visits that area on Saturdays.

Not only is the service poor (or non-existent), even the information given by their call cente employees is unreliable. On the first Saturday after the complaint, I called them about 6 times through the day, and was told each time that the tech is on the way. He did not come that day or even the next. On Sunday, they said he would come on Monday, but of course, no one came.

Every time you call to get an update on the complaint, even though you give the complaint number, they ask all the same questions again and again - It is not working? What is the problem? Has any one contacted you from the service center? etc.

Stay away from Samsung products!
