Comparision of Vguard+Exide and Luminous Inv+Batt
Apr 04, 2012 10:52 AM 143776 Views

To start with, I staunchly believe that a review for a product cannot be given right after purchase. One needs to run it for a while before giving a review.

In that lines, even I am gonna default now because the luminous inverter that I am gonna compare now was bought just a week back.nevertheless I believe there are worthy points in the comparison

V-Guard Inverter+ EXIDE IT 500 Battery

I installed this configuration in my hometown Madurai where there are power cuts ranging from 6-8 hrs everyday. I got this installed in March 2011.(PRICE - 18500.it was cheaper compared to the rates in 2012). I had a lot of apprehension buying this because I read a lot of bad reviews on the service of EXIDE. However, I have no complaints till now.The only maintenance that I had my parents do was to fill the tubular batteries with distilled water. And No buzzing sound which I get in the recently bought Luminous inverter.

Luminous Inverter+ Luminous Tubular Batt

With my past satisfied experience with the VGUARD+ EXIDE IT500 combo, I planned to go for the same installation for my home in chennai. But I could not find a dealer for the VGuard inverter. So I decided to go for the APC+ EXIDE IT500.IN a time frame of 1.5 months, the rates of APC+EXIDE shot from 19200 -> 23000. I could not still go for it. I decided to give a try with the luminous that was vouched by my friend. Dealers quoted ranging from 19500-20000, I could bargain it to 18500.(Bought on Mar 30, 2012). So far so good.Gives a buzzing sound when it works as the power backup.no sound while charging. It supported me while I had a whole day powercut on Apr 3. Yet to see my power bills.

Hope the info helped to some extent.
