Frustrated with LG
Aug 16, 2015 11:36 AM 164980 Views

My experience with LG Goa.

Compliant no: RNA 150713069649

Our house in Goa is under renovation and we are currently living in a 1 bedroom small apartment. I bought an LG split air condition on 27-April-2015 for my parents who are senior citizens. This was bought from “Essential Electronics” in Panjim(North Goa).

It is very disappointing that this ac  was not installed correctly. After installation the drainage pipe was leaking water inside the house instead of outside. Due to this my parents were not able to use the ac. They contacted Essential Electronics who told us that they cannot help and told my father that he would have to call the LG toll free number.

When my father called he was kept on hold for a very long time after which the staff who attended to him send him an SMS with the details of the service center. Details below. When my father called Macross on the number(8322415393) provided by the LG staff, the message from Macross was that this number was incorrect and we should not call this number any more.

After getting LG call center to contact Macros for us, Macross visited us and told us that we needed to contact Essential Electronics from where we bought the unit as the installation was not done correctly. Hence the unit was leaking water inside the house. After my elderly father visited Essential with this problem, they send someone who fixed an addition pipe outside the house and charged them Rs 700 for this. After this new installation the unit continued to leak water inside the house as well as outside.

Anyway, this was only my initial problem. I visited Goa in July-15 for my vacation. I was there for 3 weeks. I was in constant contact with Joachim from Macross. They visited twice, check the unit and left saying that they have informed their Branch/Regional Manager about this problem.

Now the best part. I found out that this Branch/Regional Manager’s name is Arun(cell no 9986507709). I tried contacting him to request him to approve for the clearly defective unit to be replaced with a new unit . I tried over 25 times to contact Arun. His cell phone sometimes rang, most of the time was uncontactable. I even send him a message asking him to call me back but he did not. Joachim from the service center told me that Arun was in Goa for a few days and that I can contact him. The day he arrived, the same story. I tried calling Arun. I called him the subsequent days also. I even called him after he left Goa. His phone only rang and he never called me back. I even told Joachim to get him on the line and call me back which they did not. The very fact that Arun was not taking my calls and not calling me back was evidence that that Arun was updated with my problem and was avoiding speaking to me. He is a true COWARD and a shame for LG to have him as an employee. That too as a Manager. It reflects a lot on what LG actually stands for.

Anyway they finally decided to change the drainage system. However for them to do so they had to wait for the part to arrive from their warehouse which took over a week. 2 days before I left Goa they changed the drainage system. I thought the problem was sorted out. I noticed that water condensation was occurring on the outer panel of the unit. This was happening even before the drainage was changed but I thought it was due to the leakage/drainage problem. Anyway I called the service agent again. They send their staff who brought along an LG engineer. After  seeing the problem, the engineer told me that the room for this 1.5 ton was too small, hence the condensation. I told him that since the house was a small 1 bedroom apartment, we kept the bedroom door open so for the aircon breeze would cool the remaining part of the house. To that he could not further give me any explanation and said that he would mention this to the service agent boss. After that I have not heard from them.

In all this drama of 1 month, I got innumerable calls from different people from the LG call center. I was fed up with explaining to them every time what I was going through without the problems being solved neither my unit getting replaced. I asked them to never call me again but to call Joachim from the service agent if they needed to.

Since my parents are elderly and I am out of India, one of the main reasons I selected LG was because I thought that the after sales service would not be a problem. Unfortunately this is the exactly problem I was hoping not to have.

My final word is that I made the biggest mistake of ever buying an LG electronic. I never buy LG products because here in the Gulf they are 3rd grade. However my father insisted on an LG aircon hearing that the after sales service was good. Now he too folds his hands and advises people never to buy an LG electronic.

After reading this, I request you NEVER to ever call us up again because I do not want you’ll to bother my elderly parents.

With Frustrated Regards

Unfaithfully Yours
