As usual it was a long search for me before buying a product. I was looking for something very specific(I didn't knew if something close to it is there in market).
I wanted a water heater with a option by which it can switch on in the morning automatically so that I don't have to wake up and go in the bathroom to on it(very difficult in cold winter mornings).
After a lot of search I found 3 products, Recold, Venus and Haier. From the first look I liked haier, very different from other models.
Recold: After some search Recold was rejected as that model was not available.
Venus: iMyst has got nice features, all that I wanted - including cooper tank(10 yr warranty), buzzer when water is ready and digital controls, but no remote.
And from first enquiry I came to know its available and so told the shop to install it next day. Next day call came its not there, and availability is less due to less demand and there are some complains for the digital panel. Thus this too was rejected.
Haier: Now only option left was Haier, and some way I was happy also - my only doubt was whether the settings made were maintained in case of power failure. in Venus it was clearly mentioned, but for haier its not mentioned. I searched the web and asked the showroom, but no confident answer - though they said it will be maintained(but the confidence was missing). Any way I went for it and it was perfect fit to my needs.
Advantages:
Sleek and good looking.
Digital control with real time clock( I can now see the time even while taking bath)!
Remote control(so my wife can use it easily without streaching to reach the controls on the panel).
Touch control on geyser body.
Nice display.
Once for all do the setting - on time(when the geyser will start), off time(when it will go to standby), you can set both, neither(for instant use) or any one of them.
Heat retention also great- after morning use the water is left(at almost 40 C) and in evening it stays at around 33 C(after 8 hours). Pretty good.
There is display for water temp also, so u know if the water is cold and if it needs reheating or if it can be used as it is.
Variable heater(they cal it speed) - 1KW, 2 KW and 3 KW.
Heating is quite quick, and u can see the temp increasing.:)
Things that could have been better:
Option it put it in silent mode, every time u press a button it chimes - good initially but latter on irritating
Manual is poorly written, difficult for a normal person to read and understand.
I hope they are not thinking that only techies will be using it.(even the person who came to install the set said not to use the times as u may click some other button, they too are not sure. But as I am used to gadgets - I did it - but will some extra thinking)
No other complain till now of 3 days use. Its working just as expected.
Oh! I forgot to say the most important thing, the ON timer is not the start of the heater rather it the time when water will be ready to use.
The system automatically calculated the time it needs to heat the water and starts in back time, so that water is ready to use by the ON time - gr8 feature(so if water is warm it will start late and it cold will start early- there by saving electricity and u don't have to bother when you need to switch on(this feature was not there is Venus iMyst, it has the heater on time:-)
Now I hope it keeps on working like this for years, as my only apprehension is that high temp of approx 70C may have impact on the digital/electronic components.
But at the same time, I think this must have been tested by the company before releasing a product like this.
Go for it - it too good. May be thousand odd Rs more that conventional ones but worth the money.
I have forced to write this review as I couldn't one for this model over the whole internet, hope this will help some one who needs, like me some time back.
