Our first washing machine was an IFB and it lasted about 18 years without a hiccup, only the lower body corroded due to our negligence.
Our next washing machine is a Samsung Washer dryer combo 6.5kg used for 5 years. Now I see numerous complaints about IFB.

My Samsung machine had been giving numerous issues due to following:
1) Namely water filter blockage: small problem but easily solvable.
2)However the quality of service personnel in Samsung is horrendous in Delhi,
They are trained sabotage artists wearing Samsung uniforms, they have tried opening top cover without opening screws, resulting in its damage in 2 places, the soap dispenser has been broken inside. One of them came and threw the water filter away! There are 5 complaints pending with the call centre. The service centre has cancelled these on their own without my approval.
Now again there is an issue with the door lock and my clothes are stuck inside for which they are asking for an advance! ????
Suspecting that the service centre has no relation with the Samsung brand, only they wear the Samsung uniform too fool the public.
So I perceive that quality of all brand may have come down.
My decision: buy a top loading cheaper machine(LG?) so that I can use and throw, since service is very poor in India.
