Eureka Forbes - Unable to provide user manual. Review on Choosing a Vacuum Cleaner

I had purchased a Eureka Forbes Swift ZXI vacuum cleaner in March 2008 from eZone at City Center Mall in Hyderabad. Unfortunately, I did not inspect all the contents of the package and after a few weeks, realized that I could not find the user manual. Anyway, I thought it should be easy to get a replacement user manual - a soft copy / online version would be even better! I could not find the soft copy on their website.

I then raised 2 online tickets over the next few days but with no response. Then I went via the call center and finally reached the person who is supposed to serve the 'channel sales'. The support person was kind enough to raise a complaint number (2567). Over the next few months, I kept on following up on this complaint number but the response was pretty much the same - we are trying to get the manual. I wonder why it was so tough to just post or mail the soft version if the hard copy was not available.

Next I hunted down the email id of a specific officer for the local area and sent a mail to her (early September 2008), while CC'ing their corporate support mail id. She was kind enough to respond back promptly saying that she will raise it to corporate and have either the hard copy or soft copy sent over. Even after one more follow-up a few days later, the story was the same.

So now it is the last day of October, with more than seven months since I purchased that vacuum cleaner, but I still do not have the user manual. Not that I have had any problem with the vacuum cleaner, but due to lack of the user manual, I have had problems in understanding how to use certain attachments, to clean/replace bags, or to troubleshoot.

Follow-Up Note: Since writing this reviewing and reminding Eureka Forbes of this review, I have received the user manual hard copy. Thanks Eureka Forbes!!!
