Samsung Fridges : Don't Go By The Brand Name

We had been using Samsung Double Door fridge for 9/10 yrs till the the compressor got spoilt.The phone no . Of Service Centre provided by Customer Care turned out to be false! The Service Centre took  2 days to respond . The engineer recommended that we buy a new one rather than change the compressor .Strangely the company gives only 3 months warranty on it. Also the company had discontinued the model so I would have no luck with buying spare parts .


So we bought a new  Samsung fridge 2 Door   RS554NRUA  worth from Croma, Mumbai on 6 th August 2016.


We had to make huge renovations to the kitchen to fit the fridge in .The installation engineer made his mandatory service call and did not lock the wheels of the fridge!


2/3 instructions were given and model no .photo clicked on his phone .


He scrammed and whoa! Installation done!


It was the carpenters in the house who pointed out that the fridge moved every time we opened it . The contents of the fridge moved every time we opened it.


We immediately called the guy whose mobile no was smsed by the company.The no.turned out to be false! again!


With 24 hrs of the new fridge we were told by Croma to go back to Samsung Customer Care and lodge a Complaint! On 9 th August 2016, we lodged a complaint .


Same story .Service centre did not respond! We relodged our complaint and the service engineer called and insisted on making his visit as he was in the area. We requested him to wait, as we were out, and prompt came the reply, "No" .


Then the 3 day Independence weekend started and since we were out the weekend we requested them to come on 16 th August, 2016 .


Here I am today with my brand new fridge NOT  working! There has been some leakage and there is no chilling!


Popular opinion recommended that we buy LG but since our old Samsung Refrigerator never troubled us, I insisted on Samsung . Also can't understand why I, living in South Mumbai should be serviced by a Kurla based Service centre .Their response time to my complaints was slow and pathetic .  They have 8 service centres in all .


The installation engineer spent 6/7 minutes in our home .


I cannot understand how the official Customer Care can dish out wrong phone No's.!


The callous attitude of the Service Centre has made this an unsavoury experience.


I am convinced that the Samsung Company, India just imports the fridges and hands over the Service to Third parties .We are still in the warranty period . I dread to think what will happen later!
